Afternoon everyone and happy Thursday to you I hope the week has been treating you well. Todays marks exactly one week since I came home from my Portugal holiday and since going back to work and getting back to the regular routine I am definitely back to reality! I was in Portugal for nearly two weeks and the Irish weather is definitely different! It was around twenty two degrees for most of the two weeks with a couple of overcast days which was fine because it gives any bit of sunburn a break (we were both a little red after the first couple of days but not too badly!) and allows you to do other tourist things without the risk of getting really burnt or the sun getting to your head.
So for Portugal I did buy a few new bits but didn’t go too mad as I have really handy holiday pieces from previous trips that just never fail. I had four of five main new pieces which I will have in this post as the rest are all older, plainer things that I have posted about a hundred times before in older holiday posts!

Outfit One
I literally only picked this shirt up to try it out the day before I left and it actually ended up being the most handy top. I don’t really wear shirts because they are usually all too long, baggy, see through for me but this one is actually so good especially for holidays! It actually isn’t see through but its still really light and comfy. You can wear it the way I have it here with the corners of the shirt just out from the shorts which is a cute detail or you can undo the last few buttons and tie it at the front and wear with jeans. The shorts are a pair I have had for about four years so I have a link to a newer similar pair here with a few cute details on the hem! (P.S Spot the bored boyfriend waiting in the background to leave haha)

Outfit Two
Again these were shorts I bought the day before I left because I have literally been hunting down shorts that actually fit me for about two months. I find it really hard to find proper fitting shorts because they are usually that bit too big at the waist and when you add a belt it just bunches up at the back and looks really strange so I saw these in Primark and thought they were so cute as they have that little scallop edge and floral hem detail and they fit really well! The t-shirt I bought at work a couple of months ago and its again a really cute t-shirt that goes with anything. I would recommend going a size up in it as its a more fitted t-shirt but if you want a more loose fitting style then I would say to go a size up.

Swimwear Look
This bikini is also from Primark and is a really nice two piece on. The bikini top actually has detachable straps at the back so you can halter neck them or cross them if you want to if you want to alter it to avoid strap marks while tanning. The cups have removable padding too depending on your preference of swimwear and also its handy when washing it incase the padding doesn’t agree with the washing machine. Its not underwired but the extra material does give that bit of support but I wouldn’t say that it would work if you were very heavy chested but you know what works for you so i would give it a go! Unfortunately this bikini is not up on the Primark website but I found a similar one on Missguided to show you and take a look at. The briefs are virtually identical to the Primark ones! They have tie sides so you can alter them too which is very handy! The cardigan again is one I got about 4 years ago but I have here a batwing new version from Boohoo which isn’t a knit like mine but the same style!

Outfit Three
I actually bought this top about a month ago at work out of desperation because I dressing mannequins in the window in a jumper and actually thought I was going to pass out with the heat and it ended up being such a good purchase! I have worn it casually just with jeans but I love it with the shorts. Its just a really nice top with the button details and the tie front and you can do a lot with it! The buttons are a big thing at the moment and these are really nice small but noticeable ones. They don’t actually serve a purpose but really add something to it. I have included the three different colours it is available in if you’re not keen on the black and want something a bit lighter. It is available in pink in stores but its sold out online!
We had a really nice chilled time in Portugal and didn’t do too much except relax and go for food. We did do a Jeep Safari tour of the Algarve one of the days which was really interesting seeing the countryside and the different towns as well as getting to sample Firewater which is a 48% pure alcohol made from fire berries in the mountains and sampling pure homemade honey which was delicious. Other than that we strolled around the old town, laid on the beach, chilled by the pool and went out for food which was nice just to not work to a certain schedule or time frame and just do what we wanted to do. I think its really important to take a break from work and regular life every now and again to just go away and de stress and come back refreshed and relaxed.
So thats my Portugal looks and a little on what I got up to. I hope that the month of may has started off well for you (how are we nearly 6 months into 2018 already?!) and that you are all looking forward to the weekend ahead! I hope the weather is better than here in Kerry wherever you are in the world as its a bit miserable here today! Speak to you soon!
Ever Yours
Lily
