Good afternoon everyone I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday today as am I (its my birthday today!) so Im just giving you a short post featuring http://www.ruelala.com who emailed me a few days ago asking me to talk about Handbags and what I carry in mine!
First of all if you don’t know about Rue La La its a website/blog for members only that feature all different brands of women’s fashion, mens fashion, kids, travel, home and much more. They are based in Boston, New York (which is one place I have to go to someday!) and you can like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter and also sign up to receive emails of new products and become a member to see their website! The reason they asked me to write about handbags is because they have a piece on them called Handbags 101 where they just talk about different types of bags, their materials, designs, brands, how to to take care of your bag and also a short history on handbags! you can read it all here in full by clicking the
Here is my most used handbag for everyday and a little of whats in it.
Lets face it ladies we all have a bag for almost every occasion. Ou of all my friends I have one that doesn’t use a bag at all and I honestly don’t understand how you can’t have anything to carry! I bought this bag from work a few weeks ago and it is so handy. I love a big bag personally because that means I can carry everything in it without any problems! Small bags to me just would not fit everything in it. I always bring way too much stuff with me when I go out but this way I am prepared for anything! This bag has gold faux zips on the front and gold plates on the bottom two sides (you can’t see them in this photo sorry) and then the back is just plain black. Its a hard leather like material so it doesn’t crease or anything which is great because there is nothing worse then your bag getting scraped and waring out. I nearly always have this bag with me unless I am going for dinner or something like that then I would use a different two bags. Here is one of the ways I wear my bag like today going to work.
As I mentioned I like to carry a lot of things with me so I will show you a bit of what I carry around! I have essentials that I never leave the house without and things that I have for certain situations for example if I am in town really early for work then I bring my book and head to Costa for an hour to read and drink their Brownie Hot Chocolate (if you haven’t had it do because it is just the best!). The essentials I have with me are my purse, my blog post notebook, my make up, my umbrella, a hairbrush, perfume and a hair tie.
I normally have a scarf thrown in there on top and maybe a jumper too depending on what Im wearing to work. If I am at an event or a get together of friends I will have flat shoes in there as well but I don’t normally use this bag for nights out as it is just a bit too bit for the clubs and dancing! Other things that can be found in my bag are a bottle of water, keys, earphones, a comb, hairspray, hair pins and my name tag for work! I literally carry all of these things and the essential items I mentioned at once just for walking into work and walking out again! As of next year though I will have a diary with me too because I have decided that I should have one for scheduling posts, my work timetable, events etc instead of piling it all on a calendar square!
I would like to say thank you to Rue La La for asking me to do this post and for getting in touch because I love hearing from people including you guys that you are interested in my blog and what I post and if you have any suggestions on what you want me to post please let me know! I love hearing from you guys and reading your emails! You can find my emails and links in my Contacts Page.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and the piece by Rue La La on Handbags 101 because it is such a good read and is really interesting on how to care for your bag and the history of bags. So have a read guys its good!
